paulroosmtb: Spur High School MTB League #3

So Delvera….Memories are to be found there! This weekend the 3^rd race in the Spur Highschool’s MTB League, was held there. The weather: perfect. The course: even more so. The riders’ enthusiasm: EXTRAORDINARY! The PRG MTB Racing Team was ‘amped’ to get out there and test out their fitness levels, with the up and coming finals and nationals in the series.

The course followed a new designed route, which involved lots of climbing, and technical descending, accommodating riders of all skill levels. The tight and twisty turns on the Delvera Pump Track, was such to give the riders the adrenaline rush they where after.

The Youth race was dominated by Harrie Malan and Matthew Lombardi, both from PRG, taking 1^st and 2^nd place in the race. Michael Lord also had an awesome race and ended in 4^thplace after being held up by a spectator in the final sprint (next time he'll be on the podium ;) ). Dean Morgan took 3^rd place in the Junior race, and was closely followed by Edward Best in 5^th. All in all, a FANTASTIC race organized by Meurant Botha, simulating a world cup event on a small scale for the youth of today! We look forward to the rest of this exhilarating series and to hosting the Final race of the League, on the 1^st of September at Paul Roos Gymnasium.
